How We Came To Be

For two months, Nopalito Network participated at Idea Funding pitch competition in preparation for TenWest Impact Fest. This is how it started!

It is said that if you have a chance or find an opportunity, you should take it. So we did! On August 27th, 2022, Nopalito Network participated in Startup Tucson’s Accelerated Fundamentals Course that then led to preparation to partake in a pitch competition. The course highlighted the anatomy of a pitch deck and helped with the creation of an elevator pitch. Both of those things are crucial to starting your business and proposing your business idea to investors. Through the intensive, day-long course at Startup Tucson we were able to begin the journey of Nopalito Network.

Little did we know, that this would only be the beginning of our journey in entrepreneurship. Later that week we applied to be considered to compete for Idea Funding 2022, along with over 115 applicants! You can read more about how that went here. Our point is, that all it takes is YOU to get an idea going or a business moving. If you want to learn more about entrepreneurship in Tucson we recommend finding an idea and then signing up for courses at Startup Tucson.

As a Women-Led, Native-Owned business, we understood how crucial it was that we share this story for others so that we can help build a sustainable ecosystem of entrepreneurship in our Indigenous communities.
